Hive of creative activity open to all In the course of a busy life, people often need to give themselves per- mission to take time for their own interests. The Feilding & District Art Society (FADAS) offers space and facilities in their Art Centre for people to use on five mornings a week from 10am to noon. On Fridays quilters meet to work on their projects, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays the sturdy tables and the floor and table easels are available for people to bring their own materials to paint, draw or practise related activi- ties for a small fee. On Wednesday afternoons during school terms, there are to be two one- hour-long sessions of an after-school Art Programme for 7 to 9-year-old chil- dren from 3.30 till 4.30, and from 5 till 6pm for older children. FADAS also has a gallery which is open to the public six days a week including Saturday and Sunday with changing exhibitions and artwork for sale. It is a great opportunity to see what local artists are producing and support them in their work.
